Children can start in our Nursery the term after they have turned 3. Please contact the school office for availability.
Please be aware that having a place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception; you will still have to apply separately for a place in Reception and follow the Hertfordshire online admission system via the Herts Direct Website.
If any Nursery option is oversubscribed, spaces will be allocated using the following admission criteria:
- 15 hours place will be allocated first.
- If there is oversubscription for 15 hour places we will continue to implement the following admission criteria
Looked after child
Medical/Social need
Social need (as requested by health visitor or social worker)
Parents/Carers who work at our school
Sibling link
Distance to the school
Parental preference / work arrangements
Age (if the need arises priority will be given to the older child)
Ensuring there is a balance of both girls and boys
In addition, we will offer 30 hour places until all spaces are filled. You can check the following website to see whether you are eligible for 30 hour free childcare https://www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator - you will have to reconfirm this to us through an 11 digit code every three months.
Please note that if you are entitled to 30 hours free childcare but are only intending to take up a 15 hour place, you can use the remaining hours for our before and after school club "Treetops" or to pay for lunch club sessions.
If there is oversubscription for 30 hour free childcare places, we will implement the following admission criteria which is based on the Herts Admission criteria:
Looked after child
Medical/Social need
Parents/Carers who work at our school
Sibling link
Distance to the school

An eligibility checker is available on childcarechoices.gov.uk, enabling parents to access personalise information on the support available, including which of the new transformational childcare offers available depending on childs' age and parent earnings.
