Houses

We have four houses at school that were chosen by the school council.

These are The Wick, Heartwood, Clarence Park and Jersey Farm

These houses are all named after parks found in the nearby vicinity.

Each child is placed in a house and over each year will support their house through various half termly house challenges and through our annual sports day.

Current house points for this year 2022 / 2023 are as follows:

           The Wick 2000

        Heartwood 1350

        Clarence Park 2000

        Jersey Farm 1500

Our House Challenge had a vehicle theme this half term and all the children took part within their class houses to construct junk models. Nursery were challenged to make vehicles out of mobilo, Reception to make rockets, Year 1 to make wheeled vehicles and Year 2 to make vehicles with a sliding action.

It is always difficult to choose but this time first place went to Willow – The Wick. The children were very excited as now we have joint leaders with Clarence and The Wick sharing 2000 points.

Winners for this Challenge were Willow class " The Wick"

Music House Challenge

In February we did our second house challenge. This challenge was to sing and perform a song of your choice. Percussion instruments could be played.

We had a fabulous afternoon listening to all the winners of each house before a final decision was made. In third place was Jersey Fram form Oka class, in second place was Heartwood from Beech but the winners were Clarence Park from Acorns.

The scores for this House challenge were as follows:

Heartwood 400

Jersey Farm 450

Clarence 600

The Wick  600

In October, we did the first of our house challenges for this academic year and they have created some fantastic artwork. This was a collaborative challenge and children worked on their artwork together. The children voted for their class winner and all children had an opportunity to visit the displays in the Hall to look at all of the results. The work was fantastic and it was really hard to choose an overall winner this time. The children voted equally for both Conkers – The Wick and Acorns – Clarence Park and it was too difficult to choose so for the first time ever we had joint winners.

The house points for this challenge were as detailed below:

The Wick  500

Jersey Farm 300

Heartwood    100

Clarence Park  300
